Presented Southern Africa Direct to the Chinese Ambassador to the UK.
Liaised with the head of Foreign Relationships of China Central Television
in Beijing to further ideas on collaboration and programme exchange with
Southern Africa Direct. Advised on market entry strategy and suitable
content for the Chinese audience. The aim was to increase awareness of
SAD in China, attract more viewers and change negative perceptions of
Africa in order to promote Southern Africa as a tourist destination for
Chinese. In early 2008, XLStobo successfully helped Southern Africa Direct
secure permission to distribute their video content in China.
Engaged with the Business Development Manager of Guangdong TV (GDTV),
one of the top five TV channels in China, to help identify a strategic
partner for the launch of a TV shopping venture. We investigated and liaised
with three prominent European TV shopping channels before introducing
GDTV to M6, one of the leading TV channels in France. This involved strategic
planning sessions with M6 Business Development and Strategy team in Paris.
Conducted in depth market research on Chinese TV shopping market for both
parties.
Consultant to a London based Branding and PR firm on their preparations for launching a new venture in China. Responsible for making contact with Chinese local government organisations and companies; Built trusted relationships; Advised on customer communication, online branding including SEO and PR approach in order to build a client base in China including international firms and government bodies.
Appointed as the UK representative of the China National Song and Dance Ensemble (CNSDE), liaised with the Royal Albert Hall to arrange performances in London. Identified potential sponsors and approached more than 10 leading Chinese companies such as Bank of China, ZTE and China Eastern Airlines. Introduced by the Chinese Embassy’s Cultural Counsellor to the Chief Executive of China Now, to include the CNSDE’s show in their festival programme. Conducted a meeting between the head of the Royal Opera House and the deputy general director of the opening and closing ceremonies of 2008 Olympics in Beijing to discuss future co-operation and cultural exchange between the two organisations.

Introduced to the International Visual Communications Association (IVCA)
by the China Britain Business Council (CBBC). Assisted the IVCA in entering
a positive dialogue with the Chinese Embassy in the UK and China Central
Television Europe with an aim of engaging China and providing a bridge
for the creative sector in the UK to help China to build World class businesses
through effective communication. Anny Wang of XLStobo was recently invited
to speak at the IVCA UK-China Programme Seminars across the country. You
